In addition to Kat’s impressive career as an athlete, Kat has been coaching at the high school, club, and college level over the last ten years.
To learn more about Kat, check out our below Q+A:
How long have you been coaching volleyball? I have been coaching volleyball for about 10 years.
What are you looking forward to most this volleyball season? I look forward to meeting and getting to work with all the athletes. I also know there is a big Senior Class and I am excited to help them finish off with a great season.
How does being an athlete and/or coach make you a better person?
Being a better teammate and coach requires you to get to know and learn how to work well with those around you. The best thing I learned while being a player was that each of my teammates needed something different from me to help support them. I have implemented that into my coaching, knowing that each player learns and responds in different ways.
What is your favorite volleyball team/player?
I loved watching Misty May-Treanor on the beach!
What is your favorite sports quote or movie?
“Don’t wait until you’ve reached your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take toward reaching that goal.” – Simone Biles
